Agency department: from Port to Receiver
The agency department of thyssenkrupp is acting as full agent on behalf of various operators and disponent owners and as such they are covering the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Furthermore they are representing thyssenkrupp Steel Europe as their forwarding agent.
When a vessel is calling the port, the agent has to organize many topics. The agency is well designed and dedicated for this kind of job. They control all required services like, arranging the right terminal and quay for the discharge and or loading operations, the customs clearance of the vessel and goods up to arranging the pilot services including towage and boatmen.
Some of the requirements to be arranged are the supply of provisions, bunkering of fuels, crew changes etc. Apart of these services the master may ask some special favors like a Greek Newspaper or the vessel may need to carry out some repairs or some crewmembers may need to go to the doctor. All these services will need great commitment and dedication from our agents and they are happy to be at your service!
Besides the abovementioned activities the agency is in close contact with the various stevedores and suppliers. In this way they take care of many vessels with an overall cargo volume over 22 million metric tons.
The great variety of iron ores are discharged at the various terminals. Once discharged, our Inland Shipping Barging Shipping Department will take care about the further transportation to the German Hinterland.
Furthermore the agency department is controlling export cargoes as well. One must think of semi-finished steel products like steel coils, and plates. In this way the European Automotive industry are using many steel products produced by thyssenkrupp.
